Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a centuries old ancient technique that is rooted in East Asian medicine. It is the placement of very fine, single use sterile needles into precise points on the body. It is extremely safe and pain free. Some patients might feel a very mild pinch but most feel nothing.

Acupuncture points stimulate the nervous system and release chemicals that promote the body's natural healing process. It has been proven to decrease inflammation, increase circulation, regulate the nervous system and decrease pain.

Trigger Point Acupuncture

There are so many different techniques when it comes to acupuncture and Trigger point is one in particular that I specialize in. It is a very effective technique for releasing any tight muscles, adhesions or “knots”.

With injuries, chronic tension and repetitive use, our muscles tend to get stuck in a contraction. Trigger point can release those muscles and bring nearly instant relief. This is a surprisingly addictive technique for most patients.

Cupping

Chinese Fire Cupping is a traditional form of healing, dating back thousands of years.

The cups adhere to the skin’s surface, drawing tissue into the cup, pulling toxins, stagnate blood and fluid to the surface of the skin to be flushed out via the lymphatic system. This is especially useful over “knots” in sore, tired, aching muscles where the blood flow has been restricted to the area.  Fresh blood bathes the muscle deep to its core, lubricating fibres and contributing to the healing of the tissue.  Lymph is also drawn into the  cup which aids in removing the painful build-up of lactic acid in the muscle.  These physiological changes brought about by cupping, decreases tension in the muscle, restores internal organ function and encourages the flow of blood and Qi to the area.

Massage/Bodywork

Whether you lead an active or sedentary lifestyle, you may experience many different types of injuries. Massage therapy helps you heal faster by improving circulation, breaking down scar tissue, and lengthening the tissues as they heal.
